Marais et roseaux
Where the land meets the sea under sunshine……

Situated in South Vendée on the Atlantic coast, this land includes 6 associated towns :

-  Grues,
-  Lairoux,
-  Les Magnils-Reigniers,
-  Luçon,
-  Saint Denis du Payré,
-  Saint Michel en l'Herm,
-  Triaize,

which are located in the Inter regional Park of the Marais Poitevin.

The Marais Poitevin is an exceptional natural site. This ancient gulf covers nearly 100 000 hectares and is the second wetland in France. It goes from the Baie d'Aiguillon to the threshold of Niort.

The Marais Poitevin was conquered by man as far back as the 7th century in order to use the lands gained from the ocean. With their marshes, their polders and the Baie d'Aiguillon, our townships have great natural resources in which one can encounter a diversified wildlife as well as a remarkable flora.

Thanks to its geographical location, the Land born from the Sea profits from an exceptional sunny climate, from the purity of the air coming from the coast and from the sweet soft light surrounding this flat land with the wide opened landscapes of those dried marshlands.
